My training
Graduated from the Québec Music Conservatory with a First Prize in Flute.
Studied with Gail Grimstead-Michaud.
Fellow of the Canada Council for the Arts, Lise Germain studied in Paris with Alain Marion and Raymond Guiot.
Chamber music with Serge Blanc at the ¨École normale supérieure de musique¨ in Paris.
Masters classes with Jean-Pierre Rampal and James Galway.
Teaching experience
Flute teacher for over 30 years.
Flute professor at the Department of Music of the University of Ottawa for 23 years.
Flute professor at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in Gatineau for 11 years.
My career as a flutist
First flute of the Hull Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Louis Lavigueur for 15 years.
Member of the Ottawa Opera Lyra Orchestra for 7 years: Second flute and piccolo
Freelance flutist for the National Arts Center Orchestra in Ottawa for 10 years.
Former member of the Bel Canto Wind Quintet
Lise Germain has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in France and Canada.
Several recordings on CBC National Radio.
Member of the flute and harp duo with harpist Caroline Léonardelli for 5 years.
